A Filipino resident was among the people injured in separate attacks targeting Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, according to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

Abha and Riyadh Airport Attack
GACA said the two incidents left three people dead and 36 others injured. At Abha International Airport, two expatriate women — one Moroccan and one Algerian — were killed, while 28 people suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious. The injured included a Filipino and a Bangladeshi resident.
At King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, a Sudanese resident was killed and eight others were injured, including five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents and one Pakistani resident. All injured individuals were taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
The attacks also caused property damage. GACA said it is coordinating with the relevant authorities to assess the damage, confirm the safety of airport facilities, and take the necessary measures to protect passengers and maintain the safety of civil aviation operations in the Kingdom.
For Filipino residents in Saudi Arabia, the confirmed report is a reminder to rely on official government and aviation updates, especially when traveling through affected airports. At the time of the report, GACA did not announce a blanket closure of the airports.
