A Saudi administrative court case recently highlighted an important lesson about salary deductions and attendance records.

Saudi labor court salary deduction
According to report, the Administrative Court of Appeal in Madinah upheld a ruling cancelling salary deductions imposed on a visually impaired employee. The deduction was linked to his failure to register attendance through a fingerprint scanner, even though records showed that he regularly reported for work and performed his duties.
The court also considered that the employer had previously accepted his condition and exempted him from using the fingerprint system. His direct supervisor confirmed that he regularly attended work. Because of those circumstances, the court found the deduction was not properly justified.
Worker Wins Salary Deduction Case in Saudi Court: What Employees Can Learn
Keep copies of written approvals, attendance records, messages from supervisors, and any proof that you actually reported for work.
Pero tandaan: this was a specific administrative-court case involving one employee.
